What Are You Thankful For?

We walked the halls today and asked some of the Friends Life Care Partner’s team what they are thankful for…this is what they said.
30 Things to Be Thankful For:
•My grandparents – they’re 90 and 91 and I cherish the time I can spend with them. We go to lunch or my nephew’s football games. I really enjoy having the chance to continue to thank them for all the support they have always given me.
•The roof over my head – our neighbor’s house recently burned down and left them with less than nothing. When something like that happens, well, it really puts life into perspective.
•My fun and fancy Shoes, because they still fit when nothing else does.
•Good health so I can pursue my dreams.
•Good health – no pain, no illness because it’s sure no fun to be sick.
•I’m thankful for the super quality time with my son – the only grandchild – gets to spend with his doting grandparents. My mom and dad are 72 and 75 and healthy as horses (although I’m sure mom wouldn’t want to be compared to a horse).
•Family all together this Thanksgiving – I’m especially grateful because being together is our special time with shared history and stories.
•Sunrises – the pink, blue, gold ones – remind me of the beauty of nature.
•Our 9 grandchildren growing up together – the laughter and love.
•Mercy and grace – my faith keeps me going.
•Memories of the kindness and caring of my wonderful mother-in-law; this is the first Thanksgiving without her.
•Feeling better after surgery and 4 dreadful weeks of recovery; being able to be myself again for me and for my daughter.
•Time away from the Naval Academy for my daughter and the Military Base for my son so we can be together at Thanksgiving…they’re serving their country and it is hard for them to get away.
•Golf balls and cake – over Thanksgiving break, we’ll have a baby-gender reveal party with golf balls that burst into pink or blue confetti when broken open. Stay tuned!!
•I’m grateful my parents are coming to Thanksgiving dinner – they always make me feel special…just like when I was little.
•I am so appreciative and inspired by my courageous daughter fighting that disease with a will so strong it encourages everyone else.
•The sunny Grand Canyon State. My sisters and I all traveled down to my mom’s place in Arizona to see her and be carefree kids again.
•I’m actually thankful for the chance to stop and think about being thankful…I am going to tell my family how grateful I am for them because I would not be me without them.
•I’m grateful for the lord in my life and getting through day by day.
•My grandson who’ll be exactly 17 months old on Thanksgiving day. He’s the light of my life.
•Teacher conferences – I had three teacher conferences for my three children this week and all were great reports. My kids are enthusiastic learners with good class participation. I’m a blessed and lucky parent.
•Grande Starbucks – I really needed it to wake me up today.
•I am thankful my dad is rebounding from his health issues. He is only 60 but was struggling with mobility and it’s so great to see him getting stronger and feeling better.
•Bonnie Scotland – my wife grew up there and we went back to visit after many years; it was such a gift to our family and especially to my mother-in-law who hasn’t stopped beaming with joy.
•I am grateful for my happy, thriving kids – young adults – on a good path; isn’t that what every mother wants?
•Sweet potato pie – not only is it delicious, but a great conversation piece…people frankly have strong opinions on sweet potato pie.
•Home coming is what I am thankful for because I lived so far away for so long and it is wonderful to be back and have support of my family and friends.
•Being a mother with so much live from my family and being able to perpetuate a concern for the world.
•I am thankful for my sweet puppy dog, Lucy, who gives such unconditional love that it’s contagious.
•The turkey wishbone – I just know I’m going to get the win and get the luck.
From all of us at Friends Life Care Partners, Happy Thanksgiving!
