Friends Life Care’s Yappy Hour Was a Barking Good Time
If you love your pup and want to meet other dog lovers, you may take them to the dog park to socialize and chase a tennis ball. But some lucky dogs recently got to attend the Friends Life Care Yappy Hour. And it was a barking good time.
What is Yappy Hour, some may ask? Well, it’s a happy hour for pets, especially of the canine persuasion, and their owners to get together and socialize. It’s a great way to get out in the fresh air, have some snacks (for humans and dogs) and to share what you love most about your furry friends.
Friends Life Care, a provider of wellness and care coordination and long-term care services for older adults understands the benefits having a pet can bring to their owners of any age – but especially seniors and baby boomers.
A Fun In-Person & “In-Canine” Event
Friends Life Care invited members and staff to bring their dogs (or other pets) to an in-person event at a local park earlier this month, where they had a lot of fun getting to know more about the attendees and their four-legged companions.
The participants sniffed each other (the dogs not the humans), shared stories, and talked about how much they appreciated the purpose and companionship that their pets brought to their lives. Not to
mention the cuddles they can count on their dogs to deliver!
Attendees enjoyed seeing the different breeds, sizes, and personalities of the dogs, and how they interacted with each other. One dapper dog sported sunglasses. And others showed off their tricks and talents, such as “shake hands” and spinning around on command.
Grateful, Connected and Yappy
The Friends Life Care yappy hour was a hit among the members and staff, who said they felt more connected and “yappy” after the event. They also expressed their gratitude for having such loving pets in their lives, especially during these challenging times.
So if you’re looking for a fun and furry way to spend an hour, why not try yappy hour?
You might make some new friends, both human and canine, and have a paw-some time!
