Friends Life Care Team Holds a Fundraiser
The Friends Life Care (FLC) team is dedicated to help in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Each year, our staff organizes fundraising events to support the vital work of the Alzheimer’s Association. This year, the fundraising committee — comprised of Katelyn Schunkewitz, Erin Price, and Katie Starrantino — teamed up with local businesses and FLC leadership to create an engaging and successful fundraiser.
About the Fundraising Events
Our event started with generous support from California Pizza Kitchen, which donated a portion of the day’s sales to the Alzheimer’s Association. FLC staff actively participated, enjoying delicious pizzas, sandwiches, and salads, all while contributing to this important cause.
In addition to the dining event, a raffle featuring a variety of baskets was held. Local businesses, including Home Helpers of Bux Mont, Roots Real Food restaurant, and Wegmans, generously donated items for the raffle. In addition, members of FLC’s leadership team crafted their own unique baskets to donate. The competition among employees was fierce, with enticing options like the ‘Pawesome Pet Basket,’ the ‘Relaxing Retreat Basket,’ and the ‘Baker’s Delight Basket’ drawing significant interest.
Sharing the Results
Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our staff and local partners, we raised nearly $500 from raffle ticket sales alone! The donation from California Pizza Kitchen will increase this amount and further enhance our fundraising efforts.
The committee extends heartfelt gratitude to the FLC staff and community organizations for their invaluable support. We’re already planning to expand next year’s event to reach an even wider audience. That way we can make an even greater impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
