Somewhat Ready (Score 6–10)
You’re on the road to comfortably and successfully age in place, but a couple pieces of the puzzle are still missing. People with scores in this range typically have one area fully covered but are lacking in another.
Perhaps you’re using technology to engage with loved ones and simplify daily tasks. Using FaceTime with your grandchildren, Facebook to keep in touch with old friends, Alexa to create shopping lists and place orders, and a WiFi thermostat. You’ve got this aspect of aging in place covered. On the other hand, your home still requires some modifications such as grab bars in the bathroom and removal of rugs to prevent falls.
Go through your answers from our readiness survey. As you identify areas of need in your plan for aging in place, do you notice a theme? Are there several related concerns that can be addressed collectively? What steps can you take to be more proactive in these areas as you prepare for retirement?
