Yoga at Riverfront CommonsWe have recently partnered with Friends in the City (FitC) and are now offering ongoing hatha yoga classes for men and women at 9:00 am on Monday’s and Thursday’s in Room 105 at the Riverfront Commons, 22 S. Front Street, Philadelphia. Ongoing classes are taught at 9:00 am on Mondays by Terry Mericondo, and at 9:00 am on Thursdays by Stephanie Churchill, both certified instructors. Terry and Stephanie lead their respective classes through a one-hour improvisational program of gentle stretching, balance improvement, and core strength building. Terry includes blocks, blankets, and sometimes bolsters in her program.
No commitment is required to attend. If you are interested, email fellow Friends Life Care member Dianne Reed of FitC at email@example.com. She will send weekly email invitations for each class. No response is necessary if you are not able to attend. RSVP to Dianne if you plan to be there so that she can manage the class size. Note that sessions are likely to be cancelled if there are fewer than three participants.
Riverfront is conveniently located a half-block from the 2nd & Market stop of the El. The station has an elevator to street level. Riverfront is accessed on Letitia Street, just off Market between 2nd and Front. There are a few free 2-hour parking spots on Letitia.
Each session costs $10.00 (slightly more may be charged on low attendance days, i.e., when attendance is fewer than four). Please bring your own mat. Classes are appropriate for all experience levels. If you have always been curious about yoga, here is a great opportunity to try it in a supportive environment.
