Living historian and Friends Life Care member, Clarissa Dillon, PhD, is returning to VigR to present another topic. In colonial times, many housewives acted as physicians, apothecaries and nurses in spite of being denigrated as "do-gooders", quacks, witches or worse  by professional medicine men. Teasing out information on these women's practices and replicating medicines they made are on-going occupational pursuits for Clarissa. Wearing replica 18th-century clothes, she will share her findings and provide a "show-and-tell" display featuring several examples of colonial medicine.
