Taking Charge of Your Bone Health

Did you see our most recent Webinar?
We recently held a Webinar, “Taking Charge of Your Bone Health” as part of our VigR® philosophy focused on wellness through Vitality, Independence, Growth and Resilience. The online presentation was chock full of interesting and important information that can help us maintain, and even improve, our bone health as we age. During the webinar, physical therapist Joanne Fagerstrom explained what osteoporosis is, the importance of proper posture, and discussed each of the five domains of fitness as they relate to healthy bones. These five domains are:
- Posture
- Balance
- Strength
- Flexibility
- Endurance
Joanne also shared a few easy exercises to build strong bones. They are simple enough to do every day and do not require any special equipment. She also advised us of exercises that we should avoid if we have osteoporosis.
If you missed Joanne’s webinar or saw it and want to view it again, you are in luck! You may view it online here through February 28, 2018.
If you’d like to build on this experience, attend Joanne’s live workshop. This workshop will expound upon information presented in her webinar. Joanne will also lead several exercises that can be practiced at home. It will be held from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at Ludington library in Bryn Mawr. There is no cost to attend, but you must register in advance as space is limited. The library is only a block away from the Bryn Mawr train station, and there is plenty of metered parking across from the library for those who prefer to drive. To attend, register here.
We will see you there!
